Field-driven domain wall motion in ferrimagnetic nanowires

چکیده

Magnetic domain wall (DW) propagation in nanowires is an important problem whose applications require stable high speeds that are very difficult to achieve with ferromagnets due the existence of Walker breakdown, which separates a rigid-body motion from oscillatory motion. One recent fascinating discoveries magnetism high-speed DW along ferrimagnetic (FiM) near angular momentum compensation point (AMCP). A clear understanding this phenomenon still lacking. Here we use energy conservation principle and generic FiM dynamics reveal physics behind absence breakdown precessional torque at AMCP. An almost exact velocity formula beyond field obtained agrees experiments simulations. This theory provides useful guidance for design spintronic devices.

Domain wall motion in nanowires

We investigated the motion of domain walls in ferromagnetic cylindrical nanowires by solving the Landau Lifshitz Gilbert equation numerically for a classical spin model in which energy contributions from exchange, crystalline anisotropy, dipole dipole interactions, and a driving magnetic field are considered. Depending on the diameter, either transverse domain walls or vortex walls are found. A...

Field-driven Domain Wall Motion in Ferromagnetic Nanowires with Bulk Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya Interaction

Field-driven domain wall (DW) motion in ferromagnetic nanowires with easy- and hard-axis anisotropies was studied theoretically and numerically in the presence of the bulk Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction (DMI) based on the Landau-Lifshitz-Gilbert equation. We propose a new trial function and offer an exact solution for DW motion along a uniaxial nanowire driven by an external magnetic field. ...

Domain wall motion driven by an oscillating magnetic field

The coherent unidirectional motion of magnetic domain walls (DWs) is a key technology used in memory and logic device applications, as demonstrated in magnetic strips by electric current flow as well as in films by oscillation of a tilted magnetic field. Here we introduce a coherent unidirectional motion of DWs in the strip, utilizing an oscillating field, which is described within a previous 1...

Domain-wall motion in ferromagnetic nanowires driven by arbitrary time-dependent fields: an exact result.

We address the dynamics of magnetic domain walls in ferromagnetic nanowires under the influence of external time-dependent magnetic fields. We report a new exact spatiotemporal solution of the Landau-Lifshitz-Gilbert equation for the case of soft ferromagnetic wires and nanostructures with uniaxial anisotropy. The solution holds for applied fields with arbitrary strength and time dependence. We...
